2017 Goldeneye Anderson Valley Pinot Noir
Sold Out
In 1996, building on the tradition of excellence they established at Duckhorn Vineyards, Dan and Margaret Duckhorn embraced their growing love of Pinot Noir and came to Anderson Valley to found Goldeneye. In the years since, Anderson Valley has earned acclaim as one of the world's greatest regions for Pinot Noir. Crafted predominantly from our estate vineyards and shaped by the influence of the wind, water and fog, this wine embodies both the elegance of Anderson Valley Pinot Noir, and its deep, rustic beauty.

Varietal Content: 100% Pinot Noir; Cooperage: 100% French oak - 60% new, 20% neutral, 20% second vintage
Winemaker Notes
Capturing the rustic elegance of the Anderson Valley, this wine begins with lively aromas of fresh-picked wild strawberry, dusty earth and sweet tobacco leaf. The dynamic strawberry aromas are echoed on the palate, where they are supported by supple tannins and a bright underlying acidity that adds energy and zest to a long, nuanced finish.
Production
The 2017 season began with plentiful rains that resulted in healthy vines and an excellent crop. After ideal temperate weather throughout the summer, a significant September heat spell ushered in a brisk start to harvest. A return to normal temperatures, combined with thoughtful irrigation, slowed the pace and allowed us to continue picking each site at optimal levels of ripeness. The grapes arrived at our winery in exceptional condition, resulting in complex wines that embody the rustic elegance of great Anderson Valley winemaking.
